Mind and body. Logic and spirituality. Movement and static.
First edition: 2016 - Reworked: 2022
Originally captured for an exhibition in Mexico, these photos commemorated the International Day of Dance. Years later, fate led me to rediscover the raw images, coinciding with the birth of my passion for philosophy. It was then that I decided to breathe new life into these timeless photos, embarking on a journey of self-discovery and infusing them with fresh meaning.
This captivating series comprises five photos, each a visual embodiment of profound quotes and concepts from renowned philosophers. The powerful figure of the body serves as a canvas to express these ideas, which have deeply influenced my path toward finding the elusive death of the ego.
The initial two photos explore the intricate relationship between pain and confusion in our lives, both featuring the same person, symbolizing the intertwined nature of these emotions.
The third photo embodies the acceptance of our inner complexities, where we confront and become conscious of our pain and suffering, manifesting the existence of two distinct yet interconnected selves. Its almost symmetrical composition captures this profound revelation.
Moving forward, the fourth and fifth photos showcase the transformation of pain, as we embrace it, allowing it to become an integral part of our reality. In this acceptance lies the gateway to inner peace and enlightenment, granting us the ability to awaken to our true selves. A different persona, distinct from the one in the initial photos, represents this newfound acceptance.
